Route 66 – California

The endpoint of Route 66 is in Santa Monica, California. Before reaching Los Angeles Route 66 crosses the Mojave Desert.

Route 66 – Arizona

Two of the most beautiful stretches of Route 66 can be found in Arizona. The stretch from Seligman to Kingman, and the mountain road to Oatman. Also one of the most touristical attractions is located in Arizona, the Grand Canyon.

Route 66 – New Mexico

Nowadays Route 66 cuts New Mexico in half in one straight line. Before 1937 the route made a bend through Santa Fe.

Route 66 – Texas

Route 66 only passes through a small part of Texas. The Mother Road crosses the Panhandle.

Oklahoma is the 4th state you cross while travelling on Route 66

Route 66 – Kansas

Between Joplin, Missouri and Miami, Oklahoma Route 66 runs through Kansas for 18km.

The second state you cross travelling on Route 66 is Missouri.

Route 66 – Illinois

Route 66 starts in Chicago, Illinois. On East Adams Street in Chicago, near the Art Institute of Chicago, you can find the start sign of Route 66. Recently a newer sign was placed on the corner of Adams Street and Wabash Street.

Route 66 is America’s most legendary road. Millions have followed her path from the industrial East to the Golden West. ‘The Mother Road’ is and adventure, and a challenge!

To strengthen the security of travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, requirements to travel visa-free have been enhanced. Nationals of Visa Waiver Program countries will still be eligible to travel without a visa but will have to obtain an approved travel authorization prior to their travel to the United States.
