Las Vegas with children


Las Vegas is gambling paradise. Not exactly a great place for a family vacation you might think. But there’s no reason not to take your family on a trip to Las Vegas. Children are not allowed on the casino floor but there are plenty more things to do in Las Vegas besides gambling.

The legal age to gamble is 21 years. To protect underage children they are not even allowed near gambling machines or tables. The security personnel in casino’s is very strict about this. Children can only cross the casino floor to get from one place to another within the resort. So they can go from the elevators of the hotel to the restaurants, using the main corridors of the casino floor. In no case they can halt on the casino floor.

Almost all resorts in Las Vegas have a casino, but that doesn’t mean that there is nothing for children to do in Las Vegas. The city is also one of the best locations for entertainment in de country. There are many production shows, like Cirque du Soleil. A few resorts even have dedicated spaces for children to enjoy themselves.

Especially Circus Circus and Excalibur have a lot to do for children. Excalibur features an arcade and has the Tournament of Kings dinner show. In Circus Circus you can see circus acts and the whole family can enjoy Adventuredome, an indoor amusement park.

Those who like speed can ride the Big Apple Coaster in New York New York. This rollercoaster goes over and through the hotel and has some unique features like a heartline twist-and-dive and offers great views of The Strip. Daredevils can get their thrills on 3 heart raising rides on top of the Stratosphere Tower.

Also outside of the resorts there is much to see. You can zipline above LINQ Promenade and pose with wax figures of your favorite stars at Madame Tussauds at the Venetian. Many theaters feature great shows. Some of them were even build especially for the production. KA, David Copperfield and Blue Man Group are great for kids.

There are also a lot of shopping malls in Las Vegas. On the north end of The Strip, across the Wynn resort, you can find the Fashion Show Mall, the Canal Shoppes are located at The Venetian and Caesar’s Palace features the Forum Shops. In Planet Hollywood you will find the Miracle Mile Shops and there are also 2 large outlet malls near The Strip.

If you would rather have a more relaxing day, you can visit the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. It features a glass tunnel at the bottom so you can view all animals up close.
